Eighty-eight Eritrean Christians from Libya have been kidnapped from a people-smugglers' caravan by Islamic State jihadists. ISIS terrorists demanded Muslims and Christians to identify themselves, asking them questions about the Koran and Islam.
Then they put many of the Christians on a truck and took them to an unknown location. A U.S. defense official confirmed this on Monday. In February, Libyan militants proclaiming loyalty to ISIS released a video showing the beheading of 21 Egyptian Coptic Christians at the Mediterranean Sea. Two months later, another video showed the militants shooting and beheading a number of Ethiopian Christians.
Libya is divided between rival governments and hundreds of militias.
