His Beatitude Sviatoslav, Father and Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, asked the faithful and people of good will to respond to the Holy Father's call to hold a World Day of Prayer and Fasting for Peace in Ukraine tomorrow, March 2.
"We will win by the power of love for our Motherland"

We see that it is not hatred but love that wins. Love gives birth to heroes, and hatred gives birth to criminals. His Beatitude Sviatoslav, Father and Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, said this in his daily military video address.

"The power of prayer can stop the enemy," said student hieromonk Luka Mikhailovich
"That is why I encourage all of you: we are learning to love in this tragic time. Let us not allow hatred to overwhelm us, let us not use its language and words. According to folk wisdom, those who hate the enemy are already defeated by him, "he added.
The head of the Church conveyed greetings from the first Ukrainian capital Kyiv.
"I have good news for you," said His Beatitude Sviatoslav, "today, March 1, 2022." This means that the calendar spring begins. And although today the white snow shook our capital, but spring is constantly coming to the land of Ukraine. Like a snowdrop breaking through the snow to show its flower, so through the horrors of war, this day of light of peace for our land is inexorably constantly and strongly breaking through ”.
The bishop noted that today we are experiencing the sixth day of a bloody and unjust war.
In these last waves, particularly this night, we have seen new horrors of war. We saw destroyed schools, kindergartens, cinemas, museums, and in the morning the rocket hit the maternity hospital.
"We ask: for what? Women and newborns ... Why are they victims of this war? .. But we pray. We stand. We are a nation that builds and protects peace in Ukraine and around the world at the cost of its own blood. We pray for our soldiers, we pray for all those who today support the struggle for peace in Ukraine, "he said.
