Major Archbishop in Ukraine says "I call on the whole world to hear the voice of the blood crying out from the Ukrainian lands to heaven."

UGCC Head Catholic Archbishop Sviatoslav of Ukraine, in his daily message:
Glory to Jesus Christ!
Dear ones in Christ, brothers and sisters.
Today, April 2, 2022, and Ukraine is experiencing, suffering 38 days of this terrible war, Russia's deadly aggression against our people.
That night the whole Ukrainian land trembled. Our homeland was again hit by a massive missile strike from Russia. In just a few hours, according to the data we heard today, about 30 missiles were fired from Belarus in Ukraine.
The blow was inflicted on the city of Dnipro, Poltava region, Poltava and Kremenchuk. They were hit by towns and villages in the south of our country. Odesa region also suffered losses during this last day. Bloody battles are being fought around Kyiv, Chernihiv and Kharkiv. Human blood is shed in our homeland… Every bomb, every rocket that falls on residential areas of cities and villages kills dozens of people.
"Cain's sin" is being committed in Ukraine today.
The innocent "blood of Abel" cries from the Ukrainian land to heaven. This is what the Lord is saying today to the murderers of Cain in the third millennium, saying, “What have you done? Your brother's blood is calling to me from the earth… »
I call on the whole world to hear the voice of the blood that is heard crying out from the Ukrainian lands today to heaven. The voice of the blood of innocent victims, civilians, women, children, the elderly.
Today in our Church there is a church-wide day of prayer for the victims of this bloody war in Ukraine. Today, our bishops, both in Ukraine and around the world, will offer a bloodless sacrifice of the Divine Liturgy.
We pray for those of our heroes, our servicemen, girls and boys, who have covered themselves with eternal glory, giving for the future of their homeland the most precious thing - their own lives. Today we pray for the innocent civilians killed in Ukraine.
As reported, more than 150 children have been killed in Ukraine these days - this is only official data… And how many children actually died, we probably do not know…
Today we will pray for all the victims of this war. Today, I would like to sincerely thank the Council of European Bishops' Conferences, because all European bishops are praying for the victims of the war in Ukraine. And today this day is dedicated to the prayer of the Synod of Bishops of the UGCC.
We believe that the Lord God will accept this innocent sacrifice as a sacrifice of redemption for our sins and for peace in our homeland.
These tens of thousands of innocent victims will one day stand up in a terrible court as witnesses and accusers of our murderers. May the Lord God forgive the sins of all our lost compatriots. Let him take the innocent victims into his arms. May he give them eternal memory!
Today we will offer prayers for all those who gave their lives for Ukraine, defending our state.
God, accept the innocent victims into your arms! God, stop the war. God bless Ukraine! God, make sure that the "sin of Cain" never happens again in Your land!
The blessing of the Lord be upon you with His grace and love for mankind forever and ever. Amen.
Glory to Jesus Christ!
