Juan Vicente Pérez Mora is 113 years old. He is from Venezuela and has been formally recognized as the oldest man in the world by Guinness World Records. Juan Vicente, born in El Cobre, Táchira, Venezuela, on May 27, 1909, was the ninth of the ten sons of Eutiquio del Rosario Pérez Mora and Edelmira Mora..

From the age of 5, he worked in the field alongside his dad and brothers, where he worked as a farmer in the sugarcane and coffee crops. When he turned 10 years old he attended a school, but his stay in academics lasted only 5 months as the teacher fell ill and returned to the hard works of agriculture. Despite this, Juan learned the basics of reading and writing, thanks to a notebook given to him by teacher Carmen, as reviewed by Guinness.
He prays the Rosary twice a day and has been listed by Guinness World Records as the oldest man in the world.
He worked with his father and brothers in agriculture.
His marriage to Ediofina del Rosario García lasted nearly 60 years, until his wife passed away in 1997. They had six sons and five daughters, and the family has grown to 41 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
According to relatives he is close to God and with his loved ones, and prays the Rosary at least twice a day. "My uncle Vicente transmits a lot of peace, tranquility and radiates a lot of joy. He is a person who has a lot to give. He enjoys the basics of life and is very grateful to God. His family is his support," said his nephew Freddy Abreu.
Juan Vicente Pérez Mora received the record title as the oldest man after the Spaniard Saturnino de la Fuente García, who was born on February 11, 1909 -, died on January 18, 2022 at 112 years and 341 days.
The oldest person in the world and the oldest woman in the world is the French nun Sister André, who was born on February 11, 1904 and was baptized Lucile Randon. She is 118 years old.
Juan Vicente prayed during a Eucharistic celebration in honor of his 113rd birthday. His relatives comment that he used to regularly attend mass but because of the pandemic he had not been able to do so. However, for his birthday celebration Don Juan Vicente was able to return to the church of San José de Bolívar.
