#BreakingNews 3 Kidnapped Catholic Priests in Nigeria are Rescued - Prayers Answered!



Three Catholic priests, Rev Fr Udo Peter of St Patrick’s Catholic Church, Uromi, Rev Fr Philemon Oboh of St Joseph Retreat Centre Ugboha, and Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Silas, who were kidnapped since Saturday, July 2nd, have been rescued. Fr. Udo and Fr. Philemon were rescued in the early hours of Wednesday, July 6th, 2022, and were brought to the Edo State Government House, where they were received by the Acting Governor, Comrade Philip Shaibu. According to the Chief Press Secretary of the Acting Governor, Musa Ebomhiana, the rescue operation was carried out by a joint security force. He noted that no ransom was paid. The other abducted Catholic Priest, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Silas, from the Catholic Diocese of Kafanchan, Kaduna State, was released  barely 24 hours after he was abducted by some armed men. Fr. Silas was kidnapped from the parish rectory at St. Charles Catholic Church in Zambina, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, in the early hours of July 4th. In a statement, the Chancellor of the Diocese, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Okolo, thanked everyone who offered prayers for the quick release of the priest. “With hearts filled with joy, we raise our voices in a symphony of praises as we announce the return of our brother, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Silas. “He was abducted by armed persons from the parish rectory at St. Charles Catholic Church, Zambina, in Kauru Local Government Area, in the early hours of Monday, July 4th 2022,” the statement read.
