Pope Francis says "Go ahead, let the laity assume their baptism, their role as laymen, and respect the singularity of each one...." to Catholic Bishops of Asia - FULL TEXT

VIDEO MESSAGE OF HIS HOLINESS POPE FRANCIS
TO THE MEMBERS OF THE FEDERATION OF EPISCOPAL CONFERENCES OF ASIA
____________________________
Dear brothers:
Members of the Federation of Asian Bishops' Conferences, you started the bishops' meeting in 1970, and when my predecessor Saint Paul VI visited Asia he found a continent of packed masses. Most were young, and Asia was recognized as home to diverse cultures and religions.
The bishops confirmed that the masses were waking up from fatalism to a life worthy of man; the young people were also waking up, they were idealistic, conscientious, worried, impatient and restless; culturally diverse societies were waking up to become a true community of peoples.

This meant that the Church in Asia was called to be more truly the Church of the poor, the Church of the young, and a Church in dialogue with Asian companions of other confessions.
You are going to meet now and I want to somehow accompany you in the work of fraternity and exchange of ideas that you are going to do. It is important that the Regional Conferences meet with some regularity, in this way the Church is being formed, it is being strengthened along the way, and the basic question is: What does the Spirit say to the Churches of Asia? And that is what you have to answer.
Go ahead, let the laity assume their baptism, their role as laymen, and respect the singularity of each one of the Churches, because the universal Church is not the uniform Church, no, it is universal respecting the particularity of each one of the Churches.
God bless you, I pray for you, and you pray for me. Thanks.
