Catholic Bishop Authorizes 1st Prayer for the Intercession of Pope Benedict XVI for Private Devotion



A Catholic bishop has authorized a prayer for the intercession of Pope Benedict XVI for private devotion. The prayer was published by Bishop Carlos Rossi Keller of the Diocese of Frederico Westphalen, Rio Grande do Sul, in Brazil. He issued the prayer in Portuguese, Spanish, Italian and French.
Bishop Keller writes:
As children of the Church, we should pray and ask God for his eternal rest in heaven. But as witnesses of his generous surrender to God, and knowing that his last words were: "Lord, I love you," we can also privately ask for your intercession.
PRAYER:
 Private devotion asking for the intercession of Pope Benedict XVI
(Attention: it should not be prayed publicly, but only as a personal and private prayer).
Almighty and everlasting God,
who inspired in the heart of your servant, Pope Benedict XVI,
the sincere desire to meet you and announce you,
in becoming a humble "Cooperator of the Truth"
'Being as a servant, for Christ and for the Church
Grant that I also may know how to love the Church of Christ
and can follow in my life the eternal truths that she proclaims,
Deign, Lord, to glorify your servant, Pope Benedict XVI
and grant, through his intercession, the grace that I now ask of you (make the request). Amen.

Pray the Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory to the Father.
