VOCES8 sings 'O Nata Lux' by Thomas Tallis in St. Bartholomäus-Kirche, Pegnitz, Germany. The anonymous O nata lux de lumine is the office hymn at Lauds of the Feast of the Transfiguration (Aug. 6, observed by Anglicans and Lutherans on the last Sunday before Lent.) A metrical version in English is O Light of light, by love inclined translated by Laurence Housman for The English Hymnal, 1906.

Dignare clemens supplicum
Laudes precesque sumere.
Qui carne quondam contegi

O Light born of Light,
Jesus, redeemer of the world,
with loving-kindness deign to receive
suppliant praise and prayer.
Thou who once deigned to be clothed in flesh
for the sake of the lost,
grant us to be members
of thy blessed body.
