HOLY WEEK CELEBRATIONS 2023 - PRESIDED BY THE HOLY FATHER FRANCIS - 
April 2, 2023 - PALM SUNDAY: PASSION OF THE LORD  - Papal chapel

St. Peter's Square, 10 am - The Holy Father will preside over the Commemoration of the Lord's Entry into Jerusalem and the Holy Mass.

The Patriarchs, Cardinals, Archbishops and Bishops who wish to concelebrate are requested to be in the Chapel of San Sebastiano in the Basilica by 9.15 am, to put on their liturgical vestments, bringing with them: the Patriarchs and Cardinals the white damask miter, the Archbishops and Bishops the white miter.
Priests who wish to concelebrate, provided with a special ticket, issued by the Office for Liturgical Celebrations of the Supreme Pontiff through the procedure indicated on the websiteSTItte.liturgiepontificie.va, subject to availability of seats, will want to be in the Chapel of the Presentation of the Lord in the Basilica, bringing with him amice, alb, girdle and red stole.

All those who, in accordance with the Motu Proprio «Pontificalis Domus», make up the Pontifical Chapel and, provided with the Notification requested via the e-mail address: celebrazioni@celebra.va, wish to participate in the liturgical celebration without concelebrating, wearing the their own choir dress, they are requested to be at the Braccio di Costantino by 9.30.

THURSDAY OF THE HOLY WEEK
Chrism Mass
St. Peter's Basilica, 9.30 am
The Holy Father will preside over the Holy Chrism Mass concelebrated by the Patriarchs, Cardinals, Archbishops, Bishops and Presbyters (diocesan and religious) present in Rome.

The Eucharistic celebration will be preceded by the prayer of the Hour of Terce, starting at 9.

The Patriarchs and Eminent Cardinals, by 9 am, and Their Excellencies Archbishops and Bishops, by 8.30 am, will go to the Chapel of San Sebastiano in the Basilica, to put on their liturgical robes, bringing with them: the Patriarchs and Cardinals the white damask mitre, Archbishops and Bishops the white mitre.
The Presbyters will meet by 8.30 in the Braccio di Costantino, with entrance from the Bronze Door, bringing with them amice, alb, cingulum and white stole.

The blessed oils, as usual, can be collected at the Sacristy of the Lateran Basilica.

«PASSION OF THE LORD»
Celebration of the Passion of the Lord
Papal chapel - St. Peter's Basilica, 5pm
The Holy Father will preside over the celebration of the Passion of the Lord.

Patriarchs, Cardinals, Archbishops and Bishops will wear their own choir dress, without a ring; those who wish can go to the Chapel of the reposition of the Blessed Sacrament for a short adoration; then, by 4.30 pm, they will occupy the place assigned to them at the altar of the Confession.
The Prelates, Chaplains of His Holiness and all the others who, in accordance with the Motu Proprio «Pontificalis Domus», make up the Pontifical Chapel, provided with the Notification requested by sending the email address: celebrazioni@celebra.va and wearing the their own choir dress, are requested to be at the altar of the Confession by 4.30 pm, to occupy the place that will be indicated to them by the pontifical masters of ceremonies.

The Holy Father will preside over the pious exercise of the "Via Crucis", at the end of which he will impart the Apostolic Blessing.
