Catholic Aging Ministry Helps Families and Churches Impacted with Alzheimer's and Dementia also Offers FREE EBook and Podcast

How is your Catholic parish alleviating the silent suffering of dementia?
Catholic Aging, is a lay ministry dedicated to helping busy Catholic families impacted by Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia. They offer a FREE Podcast and 112-page ebook (details below) with “The Peace with Dementia Rosary”. This ministry has the ecclesiastical support of Most Reverend Gregory M. Aymond, Archbishop of New Orleans.
Q. What does the ministry do?
We offer hope for families impacted by dementia through practical caregiving strategies and through the doctrine & tradition of our beautiful Catholic Faith. We are pro-life, pro-family, and pro-eternal life.
Q. Who do we specifically aim to serve? Caregivers, Persons Living with Dementia, Priests, Deacons, Religious, and ministries accompanying families impacted by dementia.
Q. Are non-Catholics, non-Christians, and others welcome?Absolutely, the Word of Jesus Christ is for everyone. Just know that everything here is aligned with the Catholic Church. We are happy to explain the faith with truth and charity (love), but not willing to water down or bend to the feelings of the world. We ask for God’s grace to do that.
Q. How do we offer hope? One-on-one virtual appointments with caregivers for guidance (FB https://www.facebook.com/DementiaRosary/)

Dementia is a commonly misunderstood group of symptoms that is caused by various diseases; Alzheimer’s disease is just one “type” or cause. The condition of dementia can lead to stigma, exclusion, isolation, and unnecessary suffering of families. There is no known cure to the
various types, but adaptation to this overall disability is possible.
Our Catholic faith, through educated clergy and laity inspired by the Holy Spirit, has the supernatural and earthly means to recognize the dignity of, and to foster inclusion, accompaniment, and healing to those families on the dementia journey. Towards this goal, we shine a light on the importance of the Sacraments, pastoral care, consistent prayer - especially the Holy Rosary, caregiver support groups, practical dementia
education, and communication training.
