To the entire community of Santa Cruz that cries for such a terrible tragedy, I ask you to remember the words of Our Lady of Tepeyac.
I AM NOT HERE, I AM YOUR MOTHER
Faith strengthens us in the moments when intelligence does not allow us to understand what is happening around us and let us take into account the words of the Holy Scripture "the devil like a roaring lion is looking for someone to devour, resist firm in faith."
We are the community of the Holy Cross and today we have to suffer and hurt like the Lord on Calvary, but the Resurrection is our motivation and our hope, which is why I invite you to pray for everyone and for everyone, especially for our brothers who have done their way back to the Father's House so that the Lord receives them in his holy glory.
I have no way of thanking the support of so many people and the different aid bodies, the Red Cross, the Sedena, the Navy, civil protection of the three cities in the metropolitan area and the state, the hundreds of volunteers who came together to help the specialized marine personnel who came from Mexico City with our beloved canine pairs to the prosecutor's office, for their prompt attention to the unfortunate deaths, to the hospitals in the area that were attentive to treating everyone equally without distinction, to the support of our Governor Américo Villarreal and his entire cabinet and the municipal president Adrián Oseguera and our friend the deputy Erasmo Glz.
I also thank the support of my brother priests and the guidance, compassion and invaluable support of our Bishop Don José Armando Álvarez Cano.
To the affected families, my blessing in the love of Christ, let them know that for the remainder of my life they will always be in my prayers and that from today we are brothers in pain but also in the faith that unites us.
To my friends and family for their concern, their support and their prayers in these moments that are so hard to endure, I know that love and affection are what keep me standing.
To my entire parish community THANK YOU for the love expressed.
As Saint Paul says
For the sake of Christ I rejoice in weaknesses, in insults, in needs, in persecutions, in anguish; BECAUSE WHEN I AM WEAKEST THEN I AM STRONGER
