The film is a powerful glimpse into rarely seen monastic life within 12 monasteries in Spain and provides a powerful opportunity for Catholics and the curious alike to experience the silence, prayer, and set-apartness that is a contradiction to our noise-infested world.

Through the movie experience, the audience will go behind the walls of the hidden and unknown life in a religious cloister and learn what leads a person in the 21st century to decide to renounce a life "in the world" in exchange for a life devoted exclusively to the interior spiritual life.
The stunning documentary appears in Spanish with English subtitles.
For centuries, many men and women have left everything to give their lives to contemplation.  FREE is a journey into the inner self of man. We have obtained permission to enter and talk to people who rarely utter a word, in places that remain closed to the world: THE MONASTERIES.
What leads a person to strip himself of the world he knows, to withdraw from it for the rest of his life? How does such a person think? FREE approaches great questions of man’s existence, with only one objective: to listen to them.Read less
FREE is directed by Santos Blanco and became a phenomenon in Spain, with a seventeen-week theatrical run.
