Franciscan Priest is Stabbed in the Head while Volunteering at a Homeless Shelter - Please Pray for Fr. Ademir Marques

A Franciscan friar volunteering at a homeless shelter in Dublin, Ireland was stabbed in the head during a knife attack by a disabled man on the morning of April 25. The Irish Times reported that Brazilian Fr. Ademir Marques was stabbed at the Capuchin Day Centre by a non-verbal 38-year-old man named Anthony Geraghty. Fr. Marques was subsequently treated at a hospital for a non-life threatening injury.. The attacker, Geraghty was immediately arrested by the police and charged with assault and unlawful possession of a blade as a weapon. Fr Tatu worked for several years as the SACBC media and communications officer with dedication; we are saddened by his tragic death. We extend our condolences to the Stigmatine congregation, to which he belonged and his family.
