What does the Bible say about the Solar Eclipse? 5 Key Verses - Is it a Warning or the End of the World?

A total solar eclipse will take place on Monday, April 8, 2024, and be visible across North America; it was termed the Great North American Eclipse by some. This coincides with the Solemnity of the Annunciation of Our Lord to Mary; which was moved from March 25th due to Holy Week celebrated just before Easter. A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between Earth and the Sun, and thus obscures the image of the Sun for a viewer on Earth. According to NASA, it will cross North America, passing over Mexico, the United States, and Canada. The total solar eclipse will begin over the South Pacific Ocean. Weather permitting, the first location in continental North America that will experience totality is Mexico’s Pacific coast at around 11:07 a.m. PDT.
Important to Note: Jesus warned His disciples of being led astray from prophecy: "If anyone says to you, ‘Look! Here is the Messiah!’ or ‘There he is!’—do not believe it. For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and produce great signs and wonders, to lead astray, if possible, even the elect .... But about that day and hour, no one knows, neither the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father" (Mt 24: 24-25, 36).
Jesus also explained:  Matthew 25:13  “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour."
In short, the Catholic Faith reminds believers to be prepared for death at any moment and to try to keep one's soul free from sin and maintain a relationship with Jesus. This is possible through daily prayer and frequenting the sacraments especially: Holy Mass and Confession.
The bible does not use the term eclipse but describes the phenomenon of a solar eclipse, where the sun appears to darken during the day.

And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory. 31 And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.
