The relics of St. Teresa were opened in 2024:
The historic moment occurred at 11:00 a.m., immediately after the solemn signing of the notarial deed authorizing this unprecedented event.

Previously, there was 3D reconstruction of the Saint's face as seen below:

The urn containing the sacred remains rested on a platform specially made for this occasion. The responsibility and honor of carrying such a precious burden fell to the Discalced Carmelite friars , who carried their founder through the streets of Alba de Tormes. The community of Discalced Carmelite Mothers of Alba de Tormes actively participated in the transfer.
It was, without a doubt, a moment of profound historical and spiritual significance . The solemn transfer of Saint Teresa of Jesus to the marble tomb brought together the faithful and the Carmelite community around the Basilica of the Annunciation to accompany the silver urn through the streets of Alba de Tormes: Sánchez Rojas, the Plaza Mayor, Sor Mariana de San José and the Carmus Museum until it reached the Camarín.
Before the final closure of the casket for its removal, a significant change was made: the Saint's old habit was removed and she was replaced with a more sober one. Furthermore, a testimony for posterity has been included inside the casket: a deed placed in a sealed cardboard tube . This document bears the signatures of prominent figures of the Carmelite Order and ecclesiastical figures.
The deed closes with the inscription "LD Que MDC," an allusion to the Latin phrase "Laus Deo Virginique Matri," which means "In praise of God and the Virgin Mother of the Discalced Carmelites."
