Wow Pope Leo XIV Meets with Jonathan Roumie the Actor who Plays Jesus in The Chosen - VIDEO


Pope Leo XIV met with Jonathan Roumie, the actor, who plays Jesus in the TV series, The Chosen, on June 25, after the Wednesday General Audience.. Roumie was together with other actors and actresses from the famous series based on the life of Jesus Christ and the apostles. The other cast members included Elizabeth Tabish, who plays Mary Magdalene; George Xanthis, who plays the apostle Saint John; and Vanessa Benavente, who plays the Virgin Mary. Some members of the series’ crew also were at the Vatican. Vatican media released these photos of the meeting.

On June 23, the cast of the successful American production presented the fifth season of the series; which cover some aspect of Holy Week, including the Last Supper, in the Saint Pius the tenth hall in the Vatican. Roumie in an interview with Vatican News said, "The weight of the responsibility I felt in filming certain scenes was enormous, but the strength of faith pushed me to great concentration.
