1 Million Children's Rosary Prayer for Peace and Unity in October by ACN - You Can Join Too!

“A million children praying the Rosary” initiative, organized annually by Aid to the Church in Need International (ACN), will take place on 7 October 2025.
Children prepare to send “tidal wave of prayer” around the world! On the 20th anniversary of the “One million children praying the Rosary” initiative, ACN calls on prayers “for peace and unity in a world wounded by division, conflict, and suffering”. Children all over the world are once again being invited to participate in the annual “One million children praying the Rosary” initiative during the first week of October, organized by the Catholic charity Aid to the Church in Need (ACN).
Pope Francis encouraged the faithful to join children around the world who are praying the Rosary for peace. He once Tweeted:
Emails and messages from dioceses, missions, and parishes from all over the world pour into the head-office and national delegations of ACN, raising the hope that the official number of participants will be higher than last year.

Countries participating range from Afghanistan to Zambia and including Colombia, Ghana, Lebanon, Peru, South Africa, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, Venezuela, Mozambique, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The campaign recalls the thought of St. Pio da Pietrelcina – known as Padre Pio – who said, “When one million children pray the Rosary, the world will change”; as well as Jesus’ words in the Gospel of St. Luke: “Unless you become like children, you will not enter the Kingdom of Heaven.”
Announcing the event in a press release, Aid to the Church in Need explains that t
his is the twentieth consecutive year of the campaign, which began in 2005, as a small event in Venezuela. In 2023, for the first time, over one million children officially took part, and the same happened in 2024.

Parishes, movements, schools and families are being asked to pray during the first week of October, but especially on 7 October, the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, sending “a tidal wave of prayer around the world, sprung from the hearts of children and uttered in childlike trust”, according to Fr Anton Lässer, ecclesiastical assistant to ACN International.

The international president of ACN, Cardinal Mauro Piacenza, stresses the importance of this year’s campaign, saying that it “responds to the ever-pressing yearning for peace and unity in a world wounded by division, conflict, and suffering”.

“In an age when prayerful silence is too often drowned out by the noise of the world, the Rosary offers an oasis of contemplation. It is neither a dry nor repetitive practice, but rather a gentle and strong path that leads us to the heart of the Gospel.”

The ACN webpage offers free materials for those praying in parishes, schools, children’s groups and families. The free information pack contains instructions on how to pray the Rosary, short meditations for children on the Mysteries of the Rosary and an Act of Consecration to Our Lady for children. The online information packs are available, together with colouring pictures, in 26 different languages. They can be downloaded at: https://acninternational.org/millionchildrenpraying/
