Wow Vatican Reveals New Statistics with Over 3 Million People Attending Vatican Events and Most Saw Pope Leo XIV

The Vatican released new statistical data from the Prefecture of the Papal Household which reveals that over 250,000 participated at Vatican events until Pope Francis's hospitalization on February 14. Since May, following the election of Leo XIV, the numbers show nearly three million faithful attended.
In 2025, 3,176,620 faithful attended audiences and liturgical celebrations in the Vatican. The data, released by the Prefecture of the Papal Household , includes general and jubilee audiences, special audiences, liturgical celebrations, and Angelus recitations.
Participations during the pontificate of Pope Francis
Between January and April, during Pope Francis's pontificate, a total of 262,820 people attended: 60,500 at the eight general and jubilee audiences, 10,320 at the special audiences, 62,000 at liturgical celebrations, and 130,000 at the Angelus. This figure includes events up to February 14, with Francis's hospitalization at the Gemelli Hospital and the subsequent suspension of audiences.
Since the election of Pope Leo XIV
From the election of Pope Leo XIV to the papacy until the end of the year, total attendance was 2,913,800. Specifically, 1,069,000 people attended the 36 general and jubilee audiences, 148,300 special audiences, 796,500 liturgical celebrations, and 900,000 Angelus prayers. December saw the highest attendance at the recitation of the Marian prayer, with approximately 250,000 participants, while October saw peak attendance for both liturgical celebrations (approximately 200,000) and general and jubilee audiences (approximately 295,000).
