Knights of Columbus New Video Series "Into the Breach: The Dignity of Work" on Finding Virtue in Daily Profession + Labor - VIDEOS

The Knights of Columbus have launched a new video series, "Into the Breach: The Dignity of Work," aimed at helping Catholic men find purpose and virtue through their professional and daily labors.

The series arrives at a time when many men struggle to find their "mission and meaning," according to Supreme Knight Patrick Kelly. Through five 12–15 minute episodes, the project explores how work is not just a necessity, but a path to holiness.

Core Themes & Content

The series focuses on the Catholic "vision of work"—the idea that work exists to serve humanity, rather than humans existing merely to work. Key topics include:

  • The Nature of Work: Understanding work as a partnership with God’s creation.

  • Balancing Life: Navigating the pressures of workaholism and the rise of AI.

  • Virtue & Family: How professional life can strengthen, rather than compete with, family life.

  • Leisure: Reclaiming rest as a space for prayer and encountering "truth, beauty, and goodness."

Featured Voices

The episodes feature a blend of high-level Catholic leaders and everyday working men, including:

  • Leaders: Supreme Knight Patrick Kelly, Dr. Grazie Pozo Christie, and MLB All-Star Mike Sweeney.

  • Everyday Examples: A Virginia farmer, an Air Force flight surgeon, a California firefighter, and a deacon with corporate experience.

Series Breakdown

The five episodes are available for free on the Knights of Columbus website and are organized by the following themes:

Resources for Growth

Building on the success of previous "Into the Breach" installments—which have garnered over 3 million views—this new series is designed for both individual viewing and small-group discussion. To support this, the Knights have provided:

  • A Digital Study Guide: To facilitate reflection and group dialogue.

  • Family Study Guide: To help families navigate work.

  • Family Prayer Card: Prayer for the Family from St. John Paul II Lord God, from You every family in heaven and on earth takes its name. Father, You are Love and Life. Through Your Son, Jesus Christ, born of woman, and through the Holy Spirit, fountain of divine charity, grant that every family on earth may become for each successive generation a true shrine of life and love. Grant that Your grace may guide the thoughts and actions of husbands and wives for the good of their families and of all the families in the world. Grant that the young may find in the family solid support for their human dignity and for their growth in truth and love. Grant that love, strengthened by the grace of the sacrament of marriage, may prove mightier than all the weakness and trials through which our families sometimes pass. Through the intercession of the Holy Family of Nazareth, grant that the Church may fruitfully carry out her worldwide mission in the family and through the family. Through Christ our Lord, who is the Way, the Truth and the Life. Amen.

  • St. Joseph the Worker Prayer Card: Honoring the patron saint of laborers as the ultimate model for men.  PRAYER - O Glorious Saint Joseph, model of all those who are devoted to labor, obtain for me the grace to work in a spirit of penance for the expiation of my many sins; to work conscientiously, putting the call of duty above my natural inclinations; to work with thankfulness and joy, considering it an honor to employ and develop by means of labor the gifts received from God; to work with order, peace, moderation, and patience, never shrinking from weariness and trials; to work above all with purity of intention and detachment from self, keeping unceasingly before my eyes death and the account that I must give of time lost, talents unused, good omitted, and vain complacency in success, so fatal to the work of God. All for Jesus, all through Mary, all after thy example, O Patriarch, Saint Joseph. Such shall be my watch-word in life and in death. Amen. Often attributed to Pope St. Pius X
