Is it "Holy Patience" or Just Fear? This Valentine’s Day, 365 Catholic Singles Community Challenges the "Desert of Indecision"
The Lent & Love Singles Summit, taking place next weekend, serves as the "exit strategy" from this digital isolation. This inclusive event is designed for all Catholic singles aged 18 to 118—whether they are never married, widowed, divorced, or have received an annulment. Organizers warn that this event sold out last year, and with limited capacity for the live, interactive sessions, interested participants are encouraged not to wait to secure their access.
The summit provides a "Power Trio" of experts totaling nearly 100 years of experience to help attendees navigate life's biggest choices:
Fr. Timothy Gallagher, O.M.V. (The Spiritual Director): A global authority on St. Ignatius’s Rules for Discernment with over 45 years of experience. His wisdom offers a universal roadmap for anyone seeking clarity on any major life decision—career, relocation, or vocation.
Alessandra Conti (The Catholic Celebrity Matchmaker): Co-founder of "Matchmakers In The City" and featured on Access Hollywood and Forbes. Conti brings elite relationship consulting to help singles navigate the social complexities of modern dating.
Evan Marc Katz (The Strategy Expert): The world’s first dating coach and host of the "Love U" podcast. Katz provides the tactical strategy needed to stop the cycle of endless swiping and start solving practical relationship hurdles.
Limited tickets remaining for the Lent & Love Singles Summit are available until sold out at www.CatholicSinglesNewsletter.
About 365 Cath
Heading into next weekend, the 365 Catholic Singles Community is issuing a challenge to those waiting on the sidelines of their own lives. Through the upcoming Lent & Love Singles Summit (Feb 20–22), the community is addressing the "mental health culprit" recently identified by Bishop Michael Burbidge of the Diocese of Arlington: a profound lack of community.
In his recent pastoral guidance, Bishop Burbidge noted that a lack of community is a primary driver in the current emotional well-being crisis. He wrote, “We must be willing to connect with others. We are made for community and find purpose when given the chance to cultivate authentic relationships...” Depression is now the leading cause of disability worldwide, and 1 in 5 American adults experiencing mental health challenges each year, according to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, which the Bishop cites in his letter. In an article he also stated, “People learned quickly from COVID that being isolated, not being part of a caring fellowship, was a detriment to their growth and affected mental health."
For many singles, the struggle is rooted in a modern epidemic of digital dating app fatigue. “I spent nearly twelve years telling myself I was ‘discerning,’ but I was actually just exhausted from swiping on souls as if they were just pixels on a screen,” says Maria., a member of the 365 Catholic Singles community. “It’s easy to hide behind ‘waiting on God’ because it feels safer than the vulnerability of a real relationship. I realized that my ‘holy patience’ was actually just fear of moving forward. I needed a community to help me see the human heart again, rather than feeling like a disposable profile waiting to be judged in a split second.”
This "Desert of Indecision" is further fueled by the "Paradox of Choice." In an age where dating apps provide thousands of potential matches at one's fingertips, many singles are suffering from a crippling decision paralysis. The constant influx of options creates a chronic Fear of Missing Out (FOMO), leading individuals to wonder if "someone better" is just one more swipe away. This cycle prevents meaningful commitment and keeps the heart in a state of perpetual wandering.
