Pope Leo XIV Appoints Sr. Nina Benedikta Krapić as Deputy Director of Holy See Press Office

VATICAN CITY — Pope Leo XIV has officially appointed Sister Nina Benedikta Krapić, MVZ, as the new Deputy Director of the Holy See Press Office. Effective March 1, 2026, Sr. Krapić will succeed Cristiane Murray, who has served in the role since 2019.

New Leadership at the Holy See Press Office

  • Appointment: Sister Nina Benedikta Krapić, MVZ, named Deputy Director.

  • Background: Sr. Krapić is a Croatian religious sister with a law degree and a specialization in Public Relations. She is currently a doctoral candidate at the Pontifical Gregorian University.

  • Experience: Her career spans journalism, legal advocacy for marginalized groups, and high-level communication roles within the Church.

  • A member of the Sisters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul, Sr. Krapić brings a robust background in both law and communications to the position. Before joining the Dicastery for Communication in 2023, the Croatian-born sister served as a legal advisor for victims of domestic violence and headed communications for Caritas Rijeka.

    Paolo Ruffini, Prefect of the Dicastery for Communication, expressed his gratitude to the outgoing Cristiane Murray for her years of dedicated service while welcoming Sr. Krapić, citing her "great professional and human qualities."
