BREAKING Pope Leo XIV says "Pray for peace, work for peace, less hatred - Seek solutions without weapons" VIDEO

During a brief encounter with journalists outside his Villa Barberini residence in Castel Gandolfo, Pope Leo XIV delivered a pointed message to a world increasingly gripped by conflict: "Work for peace, less hatred. Seek solutions without weapons."

The Pope, who has been using his traditional days of rest for continued work, emphasized the need to "promote dialogue" and "work for peace" as regional tensions escalate.

A Call for Dialogue Over Destruction

Addressing the growing climate of fear, especially regarding the recent military exchanges between the US, Israel, and Iran, the Pope highlighted the futility of escalation. According to Vatican News, his appeal was clear:

  • "Pray for peace, work for peace, less hatred. Hatred is constantly increasing in the world."

  • He urged leaders to "truly seek to promote dialogue" and to "seek solutions, without weapons, to resolve problems."

Avoiding the "Irreparable Abyss"

These comments reinforce his urgent plea from last Sunday’s Angelus, where he warned that "stability and peace are not built through mutual threats, nor with weapons, which sow destruction, pain, and death." Instead, he argued that security is found "only through reasonable, authentic, and responsible dialogue." Witnessing the potential for a global catastrophe, the Pope called on all parties to halt the "spiral of violence before it becomes an irreparable abyss!"

He concluded with a hope for the restoration of international relations, stating: "May diplomacy recover its role and promote the good of peoples, who yearn for peaceful coexistence, founded on justice. And let us continue to pray for peace."
