In the Christian village of Qlayaa, nestled in the mountains of southern Lebanon, a profound sense of grief and communal solidarity marked the funeral of Father Pierre El Raii. The Maronite parish priest was killed this past Monday during an Israeli attack while reportedly rushing to assist a parishioner.
The ceremony drew a massive turnout, including ecclesiastical, civil, and military figures, all gathered to honor a man described by Father Toufic Bou Merhi as a "true shepherd, ready to give himself for his flock, even to the point of offering his own life for his faithful."
