The "Golden Voice" of the Church is officially becoming "Blessed." The Dicastery for the Causes of Saints has announced that Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen will be beatified on Thursday, September 24, 2026, in St. Louis, Missouri.

Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle will preside over the Mass on behalf of Pope Leo XIV. This milestone comes after years of anticipation, following the 2019 recognition of a miracle attributed to Sheen’s intercession.

Before the internet and social media, Sheen was a pioneer of the airwaves, reaching 30 million viewers weekly with his show Life is Worth Living. From his humble roots in Illinois to his global influence as an author and Emmy-winning broadcaster, Sheen’s legacy continues to inspire millions.


Announcement: Beatification of Venerable Fulton J. Sheen

The beatification of the late Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen is scheduled for September 24, 2026, in St. Louis, Missouri. Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle, Pro-Prefect of the Dicastery for Evangelization, will represent the Holy Father at the ceremony.
