Pope Leo XIV Greets the Sick and Disabled saying "Jesus is close to us today too, Jesus who is always with us, who walks with us" in Pompeii

Pope Leo XIV visited Naples and Pompeii on May 8, as he marked the first anniversary of his election to the See of Peter. Before celebrating Holy Mass he greeted the sick and disabled and those gathered outside the Church.

Greeting of the Holy Father to the faithful
Thank you, thank you! Good morning everyone! Good morning Pompeii!
Thank you for your presence. Soon we will prepare to celebrate Holy Mass , this beautiful encounter with Jesus Christ in the Eucharist: Jesus who always walks with us, close to us. And here in this Shrine, we know well that Mother Mary is always with us, our Mother Mary accompanies us with her intercession, her love, she is always with her children.
With this trust we will pray together and celebrate the joy of being baptized disciples of Jesus Christ, all called to be Christ's presence in the world.
Thank you, thank you. See you soon.

Greetings from the Holy Father to the sick and disabled
Good morning everyone! Praise be to Jesus Christ.
What a beautiful day! How many blessings the Lord has bestowed on all of us today! I feel like the first to be blessed to be able to come here to the Shrine of Our Lady on the day of the Supplication, on this anniversary. Thank you all for being here!
Now we are preparing to celebrate Holy Mass. You can follow it from here, on your screens. We are all united in Jesus Christ, with our Mother Mary, in this beautiful blessing, on this beautiful day. Jesus is close to us today too, Jesus who is always with us, who walks with us. God bless you all!
May the blessing of God, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, come upon you and remain with you always. Amen.
