Castel Gandolfo to Host Tribute Concert in Honor of Pope Leo XIV

The Diocese of Albano will host a special concert in honor of Pope Leo XIV on Saturday, July 18, at 9:00 p.m. The event will take place in the courtyard of the Apostolic Palace of Castel Gandolfo, with the Holy Father in attendance.

Intended as a gesture of deep affection and communion with the Pope, the highly anticipated evening is already fully booked.

The Musical Program & Performers

The evening features a selection of classical masterpieces performed by world-class musicians:

  • Paganini’s La Polacca (from the Concerto for Violin and Orchestra No. 3 in E major): Played by internationally acclaimed violinist Marco Rogliano.

  • Bellini’s Norma: An Immense Love Story (Free Fantasy and Variations for Piano and Orchestra): This exclusive reworking of Vincenzo Bellini’s masterpiece was composed by Oscar-winner Luis Bacalov specifically for pianist Rossana Tomassi Golkar, who will perform it on a premium Bechstein grand piano from the Fabbrini Collection. The performance will be accompanied by a visual production bringing the opera's drama to life.

  • The Orchestra & Conductor: The soloists will be accompanied by the 55-member I Musici di Parma, conducted by Pier Carlo Orizio—professor of orchestral conducting at the Luca Marenzio Conservatory and artistic director of the International Piano Festival of Brescia and Bergamo.

The event marks a joyful occasion for the local diocese. Bishop Vincenzo Viva of Albano expressed the community's excitement:
