Prior to his current role as Supreme Knight, he served for nearly a decade on the board of directors for March for Life (including nine years as chairman) and chaired the board of the National Catholic Bioethics Center. He has also served as a long-standing consultant to several committees within the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), including the Committee on Pro-Life Activities and the Committee on Laity, Marriage, Family Life and Youth.


During his tenure leading the Knights of Columbus—the world's largest Catholic fraternal service organization—Kelly has prioritized evangelization, marriage formation, and local charitable initiatives, including expanding the organization's Aid and Support After Pregnancy (ASAP) program.
