Pope Leo XIV met with people who are sick, persons with disabilities and people living in poverty assisted by Caritas in the Rimini Cathedral and reminded them of God’s love for them. Following the meeting with those participating in the 47th Meeting for Friendship Among Peoples, Pope Leo XIV travelled to the Rimini Cathedral to meet with people who are sick, persons with disabilities and people living in poverty assisted by Caritas.
FULL TEXT GREETING FROM THE HOLY FATHER

Dearest brothers and sisters ,

I thank the Bishop and Caritas of Rimini for organizing this meeting with you, and I thank each of you for having responded to the invitation.

This is the Cathedral of Rimini, and here you are at home! Yes, because the Lord Jesus, when he encountered the sick, or the disabled, or the poor, welcomed them and placed them at the center, to heal them, to restore to them a life worthy of their dignity. Thus he showed everyone the signs of God's love, of his infinite mercy. And then these people, healed and uplifted by Jesus, often followed him and became part of the community of disciples.

This is what we too must do: let ourselves be healed by Jesus, let ourselves be forgiven, converted, and then walk together in his Church, the community he formed to bring to all the Gospel of his victory over sin and death.

And so, dear brothers and sisters, I thank you and encourage you to always follow the Lord by actively participating in the life of the Church, in the parish, in associations, in places of welcome and service, where we learn and experience that our Father is great in love and we are his children and brothers and sisters among ourselves. Let us now turn to Him in prayer, the prayer that Jesus taught us, and let us say together:
