Vatican Unveils Itinerary and Logos for Pope Leo XIV’s November South American Tour

The Holy See Press Office has released full details for Pope Leo XIV’s Apostolic Journey to Uruguay, Argentina, and Peru, scheduled for November 6–17. The 12-day tour covers ten cities across the three nations and includes newly revealed event schedules, logos, and mottos for each leg of the trip.

  • Uruguay (Nov 6–8): Visiting Montevideo, Paysandú, and Florida. Marking the first papal visit since 1988, the motto is “I bring you news of great joy” (Lk 2:10). The logo features the Risen Christ, Pope Leo, Our Lady of the Thirty-Three, and the national Sun of May.

  • Argentina (Nov 8–11): Stopping in Buenos Aires, Córdoba, and Luján for the first papal trip to Pope Francis’s homeland since 1987. Under the motto “Welcome everyone. Go and proclaim,” the logo illustrates a shared journey of faith centered around the cross.

  • Peru (Nov 11–17): Covering Lima, Chiclayo, Cuzco, and Pucallpa. Highlighting Pope Leo’s extensive history of local missionary work, the leg’s motto is “Let us open our hearts.” Its heart-framed logo features a map of Peru, the Holy Spirit, the Pope, and key Peruvian Saints
