Vatican City — Pope Leo XIV has appointed Sister Mary Teresa Barron, N.S.A., as Adjunct Secretary of the Dicastery for Evangelization within the Section for First Evangelization and New Particular Churches. In this role, she will also serve as President of the Pontifical Mission Societies, with her term officially beginning on January 4, 2027.

Sr. Barron currently serves as Superior General of the Missionary Sisters of Our Lady of Apostles, a position she has held since 2018.

Congratulations to mother for your new position in Rome. Great appointment by His Holiness, Pope LeoXIV. I have been to Donegel , your birth place in Ireland where Donegel hats originated. Have a great job for our church and 1.4 billion Catholics.
