Bishop-elect Yaghi’s biography may be found below:
Fr. Milad T. Yaghi, MLM
Fr. Milad joined the Maronite Lebanese Missionaries in 1977 at the young age of 13. After 10 years of schooling at the Collège Des Apôtres and The University of Kaslik, he was ordained to the priesthood on July 9, 1988. Soon after, he was sent to France to earn his Master’s Degree in Catholic Theology from the University of Strasbourg, and became assistant pastor for a parish in Metz.
Fr. Milad was assigned to San Antonio, Texas in 1991, and was later assigned to celebrate mass in Houston. After several months of commuting, he moved to Houston to embark on a challenge and personal dream of building a church. In a short period of time, and against many odds, Fr. Milad established Our Lady of the Cedars Maronite Mission which grew quickly from a couple of families to a couple hundred families. With the help and support of many loyal benefactors and parishioners over the past twenty years, Fr. Milad established a thriving campus with a massive church, church hall, rectory, and pastoral center. Today, with over seven hundred registered families, Our Lady of the Cedars is a well recognized and integrated Eastern Catholic church community in the Houston area and boasts as the second largest Maronite parish in the United States. Fr. Milad continues to be a much beloved pastor, friend to Middle Eastern communities of all faiths, and member of all our families.
