VIDEO - Thousands Join Eucharistic Procession in New York City Starting at St. Patrick’s Cathedral Organized by the Napa Institute
On Tuesday, October 13, thousands of Catholics gathered at St. Patrick’s Cathedral for the Napa Institute Mass and Eucharistic Procession through Midtown Manhattan.
Bishop Joseph Espaillat, auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of New York, celebrated Mass and delivered a homily inviting the faithful to reflect on Christ’s real presence in the Blessed Sacrament.
Prior to Mass, Dominican Father Gregory Pine and Father John Burns led Eucharistic meditations to prepare attendees for the liturgy and the procession that followed. Religious orders—including the Sisters of Life, the Franciscan Sisters of the Renewal, the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal, and the Dominicans—filled the cathedral in prayer alongside dozens of other communities.
"The reason why this procession for the Napa Institute is so important is because it is giving witness," noted one participant. "We celebrate Mass, hear talks, and pray—but what is most important is that we go out into the streets. The Eucharist is everything, and from there, we give witness to the world."
Families, young adults, clergy, and lay organizations walked together in prayer, bringing their devotion beyond the cathedral walls. Another attendee shared, "I owe everything to Jesus—He's my healer, savior, and deliverer. I wanted to share the good news that anyone feeling lost has a family in His Church."
The event concluded with Benediction, bringing the faithful together in a final moment of adoration. First launched in 2021, the Napa Institute’s annual Eucharistic Procession continues to invite believers to accompany Christ in the Blessed Sacrament through the heart of New York City.
