What is Veterans Day - God bless all Veterans of the Armed Forces

Veterans Day is an official public holiday in the United States. It is observed annually on November 11. This day Americans honor military veterans, or people who served in the United States Armed Forces. In other countries it is called Armistice Day and Remembrance Day, marking the anniversary of the end of World War I. World War I ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918. The U.S. holiday was renamed Veterans Day in 1954.  In proclaiming the holiday, he said "To us in America, the reflections of Armistice Day will be filled with solemn pride in the heroism of those who died in the country's service and with gratitude for the victory, both because of the thing from which it has freed us and because of the opportunity it has given America to show her sympathy with peace and justice in the councils of the nations."
