On May 1, the Act of Entrustment of Italy to Mary
Rome (Agenzia Fides) - The Italian Episcopal Conference (CEI) entrusts the entire Country to the protection of the Mother of God as a sign of salvation and hope. He will do it on Friday 1st May, at 9 pm, with a moment of prayer in the basilica of Santa Maria del Fonte near Caravaggio. As the note from the CEI sent to Fides explains "May is, the month traditionally dedicated to the Madonna: time marked by the prayer of the Rosary, from pilgrimages to shrines, from the need to address the intercession of the Virgin with special prayers. Starting this month with the Act of Entrustment to Mary, in the current situation, acquires a very special meaning for all of Italy. The place, Caravaggio, located in the diocese of Cremona and the province of Bergamo, embodies the suffering and pain experienced in a land severely tested by the health emergency. "The Church entrusts the Madonna to the sick, health workers and doctors, the families, the deceased – concludes the statement -. On the feast of Saint Joseph the worker, husband of the Virgin Mary, he entrusts, in particular, the workers, aware of the concerns and fears with which many look to the future".
