Pope Leo XIV assigned to Cardinal Tagle the title of the Suburban Church of Albano.
This is the same Church whose title, the then Cardinal, Prevost had been assigned to, when last February, Pope Francis had co-opted him into the Order of Bishops.
Pope Leo XIV has now assigned the title of the Suburbicarian Church of Albano to Cardinal Luis Antonio G. Tagle. Tagle is the pro-prefect of the Dicastery for Evangelization, in the Section, for First Evangelization and New Particular Churches.
This is the same Church from which the then Cardinal, Robert Prevost, had obtained as title when Pope Francis co-opted him into the Order of Bishops on February 6.
Now, the choice is Tagle, the cardinal who in the Mass of pontifical inauguration, gave the Pope the Fisherman's ring. The Philippine cardinal is also included in the Order of Cardinal Bishops, of which Pope Francis, in 2018, had decided to expand in number of members. Until that moment, in fact, it was composed only of the titular cardinals of the suburbicarian dioceses.
