US Vice President JD Vance Will Attend Pope Leo XIV's Inaugural Mass at the Vatican with Secretary of State Marco Rubio

The United States Vice President JD Vance's office announced that he will lead a delegation, which includes his wife, Second Lady, Usha Vance, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, that will attend Pope Leo XIV's inaugural Mass this Sunday at the Vatican. The Mass will be held on May 18, 2025. Vance previously traveled to the Vatican and visited the late Pope Francis before he died. President Donald Trump attended the funeral of Pope Francis at the Vatican, with his wife, First Lady Melania. Both Vance, a convert, and Rubio are practicing Catholics. Pope Leo XIV is the first pope to have been born in the United States of America. The new pope is considered the 2nd pope from the Americas as Pope Francis was from Argentina, South America.
