Over six million people have already visited Notre-Dame Cathedral in ParisSince its reopening about six months ago, with an average of 35,000 visitors per day, Notre-Dame is currently the most visited monument in France, church rector Olivier Ribadeau Dumas told the French newspaper "La Tribune Dimanche."

According to church rector Ribadeau Dumas, there are currently an average of 35,000 visitors per day.
Between December 16, 2024, and June 30, 2025, officials recorded a total of 6.02 million visitors. Projected over the entire year, the world-famous cathedral is expected to significantly surpass other visitor magnets in 2025, such as the Sacre-Coeur Basilica (9 million visitors in 2024), the Louvre Museum (8.7 million), and the Eiffel Tower (6.3 million), according to the newspaper.
The early Gothic Notre-Dame de Paris cathedral is a landmark of the city. Many consider it the epitome of French cathedrals. Dedicated to the Virgin Mary, the church is prominently located on the Île de la Cite, an island in the Seine, in the historic city center.
During renovation work, a major fire broke out on the roof of Notre-Dame on April 15, 2019, destroying the roof and roof structure, parts of the vaults, and the crossing tower. It reopened in December 2024.
