Pope Leo XIV and Singer Andrea Bocelli to inaugurate the 'Borgo Laudato Si' at Castel Gandolfo

Pope Leo XIV inaugurates Borgo Laudato si':

A unique experience where care for creation and respect for human dignity can be realized and harmonized according to the principles of faith, through training, work, and collaboration.

VATICAN CITY – On September 5, 2025, at 4:00 PM, with a ceremony presided over by His Holiness Pope Leo XIV, Borgo Laudato si' will be officially inaugurated: a place, for centuries the residence of the Popes, which is open to the public and which implements the principles contained in the Encyclical Laudato si', which this year celebrates its tenth anniversary.

Located in the papal residence of Castel Gandolfo, Borgo Laudato si' is a project born from the will of Pope Francis, who in 2023 entrusted the Laudato si' Center for Advanced Training with the mission of creating a place where care for creation and respect for human dignity, especially the most vulnerable, can be protected and enhanced through a shared commitment rooted in faith.

The 55-hectare property includes historic gardens, palaces, monuments, and archaeological remains, agricultural areas, and new spaces dedicated to training and organic and regenerative farming. It is the result of a journey that intertwines spirituality, education, and sustainability, aiming to offer an open, accessible, and inclusive space for learning, reflection, and experiencing a more conscious and respectful relationship with creation.

During the afternoon, the Holy Father, before presiding over the Liturgy of the Word with the Rite of Blessing, will make a symbolic tour of the Borgo, visiting its main sites and meeting with employees, collaborators, their families, and all the people who, in various capacities, bring Borgo Laudato si' to life, such as religious, educators, students, citizens, partners, and supporters.

Representatives of the Roman Curia and other institutions will also be present at the ceremony, along with the many who contributed to the birth of this project. Before the Holy Father's blessing of the site, Maestro Andrea Bocelli and his son Matteo will join in prayer and offer a song together.
