
Today, August 30, 2025, His Holiness Pope Leo XIV received in Audience, in the Vatican Apostolic Palace, the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, His Excellency Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, who subsequently met with His Eminence Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State, accompanied by Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, Secretary for Relations with States and International Organizations.

During the cordial talks at the Secretariat of State, the good relations between the Holy See and Zimbabwe were noted. Attention was then given to various aspects of the country’s political and socio-economic situation, especially its collaboration with the local Church concerning the environment, education and healthcare.
During the discussions, there was also an exchange of views on regional issues, highlighting the importance of promoting multilateralism, dialogue and cooperation among nations.
