Pope Francis "... feed them with the only bread capable of satisfying the human heart: the love of Christ." FULL TEXT to World Christian Life

MESSAGE OF THE HOLY FATHER FRANCIS
TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL OF THE COMMUNITY OF LIFE CHRISTIAN
ON THE OCCASION OF THE XVII WORLD ASSOCIATION ASSEMBLY
[BUENOS AIRES, 22-31 E JULIO DE 2018]

To Mr. Mauricio López Oropeza
President of the World Christian Life Community

Dear brother:

I have received your attentive letter, in which you inform me of the celebration of your 2018 World Assembly, when you celebrate 50 years of your journey as a Christian Life Community. With this motive, they want to pray and reflect together so that the Lord will grant them greater depth in the living of your charism, and thus, deepening in the charism received, they will continue to be a gift for the Church and for the world.

But this recognition of the gift and grace that the Lord has granted you in these years will lead you, in the first place, to a humble thanksgiving, because Jesus has focused on you beyond his qualities and virtues. But at the same time, this means a call to responsibility, to leave yourselves and go to meet others, to feed them with the only bread capable of satisfying the human heart: the love of Christ. That the "Gnostic illusion" does not disorient them.

At the center of your Ignatian spirituality is wanting to be contemplatives in action. Contemplation and action, the two dimensions together: because we can only enter the heart of God through the wounds of Christ, and we know that Christ is wounded in the hungry, the ignorant, the discarded, the elderly, the sick, the imprisoned , in all vulnerable human flesh.

To lead oneself with a Christian lifestyle, an intense spiritual life and work for the Kingdom, means letting oneself be shaped by the love of Jesus, having his own feelings (see Phil 2: 5), asking himself continuously: What have I done for Christ? What do I do for Christ? What should I do for Christ? (see EE 53).

I thank them for their dedication and love for the Church and for the brothers, and I encourage them to continue making Christ present in their environment, giving apostolic meaning to all their occupations.

And, please, do not stop praying for me. May Jesus bless you and the Holy Virgin take care of you.

Francis
