Pope Leo XIV has a Busy November Schedule According to the Vatican which Includes All Souls’ Day at Rome’s Verano Cemetery

Pope Leo XIV to Mark All Souls’ Day at Rome’s Verano Cemetery

The Office for the Liturgical Celebrations of the Supreme Pontiff has released Pope Leo XIV’s schedule for the coming weeks, highlighting key events throughout November and early December 2026.

The Pope’s upcoming calendar opens on November 2 with Mass for the Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed at Rome’s Campo Verano Cemetery—a tradition he also observed in 2025. At last year’s service, Pope Leo emphasized that Christian faith transforms memory into hope, stating that our recollections are "more than just a recollection of the past but also, and above all, as hope for the future."

Following All Souls’ Day, the Holy Father will lead several significant observances:

  • Thursday, November 5: Mass in suffrage for the Cardinals and Bishops who died over the past year, held at St. Peter’s Basilica.

  • November 6–17: An Apostolic Journey to South America, with visits to Uruguay, Argentina, and Peru. (Full schedule and public liturgy details are available on the official Vatican website.)

  • Wednesday, November 18: Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica for the Solemnity of the Dedication of the Vatican Basilica, marking its milestone 400th anniversary.

  • Tuesday, December 8: The customary Act of Veneration of the Immaculate Virgin at Rome’s Piazza di Spagna to observe the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception.
